Screen Gems’ Resident Evil: The Final Chapter cast is growing today with the addition of Iain Glen (“Game of Thrones”), Shawn Roberts (Edge of Darkness), Ruby Rose (“Orange Is the New Black”), Eoin Macken (The Forest), and William Levy (Term Life, The Veil), according to Deadline. They join Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter, who are returning as Alice and Clair Redfield, respectively. Writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson has started filming in Cape Town, South Africa.
It was previously reported that Wentworth Miller (“The Flash,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”) was returning as Chris Redfield, but he is not mentioned as part of the cast in this new report.
According to the site, the sixth installment picks up where Resident Evil: Retribution left off in 2012 with Alice racing against time to stop the villainous Red Queen from destroying the final remnants of humanity.
Impact Pictures’ Jeremy Bolt, Constantin Film’s Robert Kulzer, Davis-Films’ Samuel Hadida, and Anderson are producing and Martin Moszkowicz is executive producer.
Currently the series is the highest-grossing franchise based on a video game, with over $915 million at the global box office across the five films.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will open in theaters on January 27, 2017.
