G.Skill is having a go at gaming peripherals, and so far, the company isn’t doing a bad job at it, either. Check out its new MX780 RGB gaming mouse.
G.Skill first showed off its MX780 gaming mouse back at Computex earlier this year, and now the company has announced availability. The mouse is a new contender on the quickly-saturating market of RGB peripherals, but among the crowd it stands out with some unique looks and customizability.
On the specs side of things, the mouse comes packed with an Avago laser sensor capable of tracking at up to 8200 DPI, and the switches are made by Omron. In total, the mouse has eight programmable buttons, the macros of which are stored on 512 KB of onboard storage. The mouse is 130 mm long, 38 mm tall, and 70 mm wide. As with most of today’s gaming mice, the MX780 is capable of polling over USB at 1000 Hz.
Part of the MX780’s appeal is its customizability. For starters, the RGB lighting comes with four lighting zones, and each can be colored with one of 16.7 million colors. Additionally, you’ll be able to swap out the side grips for wider units (making the mouse 93 mm wide), and adjust the height of the palm rest. To wrap it up, the mouse is also customizable with two 4.5 gram weights, which will bring the MX780’s weight from 111 grams to 120.
The mouse is available from Newegg today for $59.99, with global availability following later this month.
