Rupert Evans has joined the cast of “American Pastoral,” currently shooting in Pittsburgh with Ewan McGregor directing and starring.
The cast includes Uzo Aduba, David Strathairn, Jennifer Connelly and Dakota Fanning. Lakeshore toppers Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi are producing.
Based on Philip Roth’s novel, “American Pastoral” follows Seymour “Swede” Levov, a legendary high school athlete, who grows up to marry a former beauty queen and inherits his father’s business. His seemingly perfect life shatters when his daughter rebels by committing a deadly act of terrorism during the Vietnam War.
Evans plays the role of McGregor’s younger brother. Evans just finished shooting a leading role in “Man in the High Castle,” Amazon’s series based on the Philip K. Dick novel of the same name. He also stars opposite Lauren Cohan in Lakeshore’s “The Boy,” set to be released early next year.
