Fox will present a two-hour Paley Center special celebrating television’s most iconic animated stars in December, the network announced Thursday.
The two-hour program, “TV’s Funniest Animated Stars: A Paley Center for Media Special,” will count down the 40 greatest and groundbreaking animated characters. It will include interviews with the creators who conceived the characters and the actors who brought them to life for animation fans worldwide.
The special will profile Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Homer Simpson, Bart Simpson, Stewie Griffin, Donald Duck, SponeBob SquarePants, Scooby-Doo and many more. Additionally, the following talent will be interviewed during the special: Pamela Adlon (voice of Bobby Hill), Tony Anselmo (voice of Donald Duck), Todd Barbee (voice of Charlie Brown), H. Jon Benjamin (voice of Bob Belcher and Sterling Archer), Alex Borstein (voice of Lois Griffin), Nancy Cartwright (voice of Bart Simpson), John DiMaggio (voice of Bender), Seth Green (voice of Christ Griffin and The Nerd), Mike Henry (voice of Cleveland Brown), Mike Judge (voice of Hank Hill, Beavis and Butt-Head), Tom Kenny (voice of SpongeBob SquarePants) and Yeardley Smith (voice of Lisa Simpsons).
The Dec. 7 special will be executive produced by Brad Lachman, Paley Center President and CEO Maureen J. Reidy and Paley Center Executive Vice President of Programming Diane Lewis. Bill Bracken will serve as supervising producer, and Jon Macks will serve as producer.
Other recent Paley Center for Media Specials have included “TV’s Hottest Comedies” on CBS last year, “TV’s Funniest of the Funniest” on NBC in 2013, and “TV’s Greatest Holiday Moments” on Fox in 2010.
