The Mirror is reporting that Steven Moffat, lead writer and Executive Producer of BBC’s “Doctor Who,” appeared at the MCN London Comic Con over the weekend where he and writer Sarah Dollard (“Being Human”) jointly announced that actress Maisie Williams will return to the show for a third time this season.
Following her appearance in recent episodes “The Girl Who Died” and “The Woman Who Lived,” Williams will once again reprise her role of the immortal Ashlidr (also known by her aliases Lady Me and the Knightmare) in the current Series 9’s tenth episode, titled “Face The Raven,” which will also serve as the final episode for the Doctor’s (Peter Capaldi) current companion Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman), although Moffat confirmed Williams will not take over as the new companion. Directed by Justin Molotnikov, “Face The Raven” will air on November 21.
Williams has already found global fame for her role as Arya Stark in the international fantasy drama series “Game of Thrones.” She also starred in the one-off docu-drama “Cyberbully” and was cast as one of the leads of Carol Morley’s drama “The Falling.” As well as being a three-time Screen Actors Guild Awards nominee, in February of this year she was awarded with a Shooting Star Award at the Berlin Film Festival.
