Cloud Imperium Games have revealed an exciting new video for the highly-anticipated Star Citizen, showing off the game’s procedurally-generated planet system from the pupil of a character’s eye to the entire celestial body. A fully crowd funded video game, Star Citizen just eclipsed $100 million in donations from supporters and has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the top crowd funded project and top crowd funded game in the world.
Currently in the Alpha stage, with no official release for the full game announced yet, Star Citizen contains many facets. The game’s primary component is its massive multiplayer online simulation of a fictional empire in the 30th century wherein players can take part in space combat, mining and trading in an ever expanding universe. Players will be able to try their hand at every aspect of intergalactic life including piloting ships, trading, and first person combat.
The game will also feature a single-player and co-operative campaign titled Squadron 42 which features the legendary talent of Mark Hamill (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight), Gillian Anderson (“The X-Files”), Andy Serkis (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Ben Mendelsohn (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Mark Strong (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Jack Huston (“Boardwalk Empire”), and John Rhys-Davies (The Lord of the Rings).
