Do-it -yourself is great for some activities, but not for making your home safe. For that concern, a hired hand — or monitor — is the best choice.
Homeowners or apartment dwellers using the Iris home security system now have the option of added professional monitoring, national retailer Lowe’s announced this week at CES 2016.
Lowe’s said it’s partnered with United Central Control, Inc. (UCC), a highly regarded central monitoring station, to offer the new service. UCC has provided commercial and residential monitoring for more than 30 years.
Iris users will now have the ability for emergency responders to be dispatched to their homes in the event of an intrusion, smoke, carbon monoxide or panic alarms.
Iris, added to the Lowe’s product line in 2012, allows customers to monitor and control home environments through smartphone, tablet or laptop. It’s been successfully marked based on relatively modest price and ease of use.
