Powerline adapter kits are far from new; they’re nifty devices that send data to and from each other through your home’s electrical wiring. They’re particularly convenient in areas with Wi-Fi dead zones and for devices that benefit more from a wired connection. Tenda’s new P1002P achieves this while providing the the latest Broadcom chip, two gigabit LAN ports and AC pass-through.
Simplicity is one of the key features of any powerline adapter kit. Installing an adapter is as easy as plugging it into an outlet, which isn’t always the case when dealing with more complex devices like routers. The Tenda P1002Ps features easy PnP installation and will cover distances of up to 300 m. Each P1002P has two LAN ports capable of speeds of up to 1,000 Mbps; one of the adapters must be connected to a router first, however.
The Tenda P1002P is compatible with HomePlug AV2 standards, making it more than adequate for data-intensive applications such as online gaming and 4K streaming. The P1002P’s AC pass through design ensures that outlet space isn’t wasted while maintaining a maximum load of 3600 W for safety. The adapter also features a noise-dampening filter and a Greenlumi power saving mode with a power consumption of 0.5 W, which reduces the adapter’s footprint.
The Tenda P1002P Gigabit Powerline Adapter is now available for $59.99 on Amazon.
