Having found strength in numbers with Paul Simon, Sting has announced a major North American tour with Peter Gabriel based on a similar intermingling of musicians and repertoires.
“The songs we trade and the songs that we sing together will have an unexpected result, we hope,” he says, though it’s fair to assume fairly high expectations in some quarters.
The On Stage Together tour (with Simon) was one of the highest grossing of 2014/15, eventually expanding to 52 concerts on three continents. Sting and Gabriel first shared stages on the Conspiracy of Hope tour for Amnesty International in 1986.
