Set to debut in theaters in three weeks, 20th Century Fox has put Deadpool tickets on sale starting today! You can secure your own via this link! The Hollywood Reporter, meanwhile, brings word that the film is currently tracking towards a $55 million+ debut at the domestic box office, which, if that holds, could see it having a higher opening weekend than The Wolverine, X-Men: First Class, and even the original X-Men.
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Ryan Reynolds stars as the title character alongside T.J. Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin as Copycat and Ed Skrein as Ajax. The film will also feature the mutant Colossus, voiced by Serbian actor Stefan Kapicic.
Tim Miller is directing the movie from a script by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Deadpool is scheduled for a release on February 12, 2016.
