Amazon has announced two new Alex-enabled devices: the Amazon Echo Dot and Amazon Tap.
The Echo Dot appears to be a smaller version of its original Echo as it offers the same features and can be used in the similar ways. Users can connect the Echo Dot directly to speakers using an audio cable or via Bluetooth, which would add voice-control options to your home stereo system. The Echo Dot comes with a small built-in speaker, which allows users to use it in any room as a voice assistant to control smart home devices and more.
The Amazon Tap takes the original Echo and equips it with a portable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi speaker that is able to offer rich, full-range sound. Users will simply tap the microphone button on the Tap to ask for music, receive news updates, order pizza, call an Uber, and anything else you’d be able to do with the Alexa Voice Service. The Amazon Tap features dual-stereo speakers with Dolby processing and 360-degree omni-directional audio.
The Echo Dot is available for $89.99 exclusively for Prime members through Alexa Voice Shopping. The Amazon Tap, on the other hand, is available for pre-order for $129.99.
