Id Software’s DOOM is only two months from release, and publisher Bethesda Softworks revealed a new game play trailer featuring the game’s multiplayer aspect.
The video shows the game’s fast-paced multiplayer combat using a variety of weapons as well as glimpses of some environmental elements of the map. The most intriguing part is probably the demon rune, an element unique to the multiplayer game play that allows a player to transform into a powerful revenant for a short time. Be careful though; if you are killed in this form, you will drop the rune, allowing any other player to gain its benefits.
DOOM’s Closed Beta will run March 31-April 3, and participants will be able to try out the Team Deathmatch and Warpath game modes on two maps: Heatwave and Infernal. The Beta will be available to players who have purchased Wolfenstein: The New Order, and you can check eligibility by visiting DOOM’s website.
