Sony Pictures Entertainment and Annapurna Pictures’ Sausage Party, the first R-rated CG animated comedy from writers Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir, debuted as a work-in-progress cut on Monday at SXSW. Sausage Party is about one sausage leading a group of supermarket products on a quest to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens when they become chosen to leave the grocery store. The film features the vocal talents of a who’s who of today’s comedy stars – Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, James Franco, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Paul Rudd, Nick Kroll, David Krumholtz, Edward Norton, and Salma Hayek.
From a story by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Jonah Hill, Sausage Party is directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan. Sausage Party is produced by Rogen, Goldberg, Vernon and Megan Ellison with Hill, Hunter, Shaffir and James Weaver executive producing. Nitrogen Studios Canada Inc., in Vancouver is handling all CG animation, design, production and post-production.
