Z2 Comics have been on a roll with their 2016 slate of comics, with Hyper Force Neo, Carver and Welcome To Showside showcasing the breadth of the line. Now the publisher has a new apocalyptic political thriller in the works called Indoctrination, from writer Michael Moreci and newcomer Matt Battaglia, about two cops who have to work with a terrorist to investigate a dangerous new death cult.
Scheduled for June, the comic puts a political twist on the supernatural influenced detective genre, and namechecks True Detective and Se7en as inspirations. Indoctrination promises to showcase the reality of death cults such as ISIS, and explore the power of ideas and how they can influence a man to become a monster.
Moreci is currently also writing Roche Limit for Image Comics, and is the co-creator of Hoax Hunters, Burning Fields and ReincarNATE. Indoctrination is Battaglia’s full length illustrated comics debut, and he also brings years of experience working within the political system as a former employee of a Washington DC Super PAC.
