ABC and Marvel Entertainment have revealed plans for the two-hour Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD finale set to close out the series’ third season. Titled “Absolution” and “Ascension,” both episodes 3×21 and 3×22 will air Tuesday, May 17 at 9:00 and 10:00pm ET/PT on the ABC Television Network.
In the SHIELD finale, the team takes on Hive. When his master plan is finally revealed, SHIELD must spring into action. Who will live, and who will die?
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD stars Clark Gregg as Director Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Agent Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Nick Blood as Agent Lance Hunter, Adrianne Palicki as Agent Bobbi Morse, Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie and Luke Mitchell as Lincoln Campbell.
Guest starring in the SHIELD finale are Axl Whitehead as James, John Hannah as Holden Radcliffe, Natalie Cordova-Buckley as Elena “Yo-Yo” Rodriguez, Mark Dacascos as Giyera, Adrian Pasdar as Brigadier General Glenn Talbot, Derek Phillips as Agent O’Brien, Patrick John Hurley as General Andaz, Dorian Gregory as Undersecretary Walter Thomas, Hart Turner as Hudson, Lila Glaudini as Polly Hinton and Amanda Rea as Aida.
“Absolution” was written by Chris Dingess & Drew Z. Greenberg and directed by Billy Gierhar,t while “Ascension” was written by Jed Whedon and directed by Kevin Tancharoen.
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD was recently confirmed for a fourth season. Which of those cast members will be returning remains to be seen. After all, Agents of SHIELD has already lost stars Adrienne Palicki and Nick Blood to the upcoming spinoff series, Marvel’s Most Wanted. They join a cast for the spinoff series that is also set to include Oded Fehr (Covert Affairs, Resident Evil: Extinction) and Fernanda Andrade (The Devil Inside, Red Widow).
