Fiat Chrysler’s Mopar brand will offer a limited-edition, accessorized version of the 2016 Ram Rebel, the first time that the brand has used a pickup for its once-a-year special edition. Only 500 of the customized pickups will be available, starting at $53,655, including delivery, beginning this summer. Mopar ‘16 Ram Rebel 4x4s will be available in two colors: Brilliant Black or a two-tone Flame Red/Brilliant Black.
Mopar has produced at least one limited-edition version of an FCA vehicle each year since 2010, but all have been cars: two Dodge Challengers in 2010 and 2014; two Dodge Chargers in 2011 and 2015; a Dodge Dart in 2013 and a Chrysler 300 in 2012. Each limited edition has sold out.
The Ram Rebel, the brand’s off-road ready model, already features different interior and exterior styling than other Ram 1500 pickups. The Mopar upfits for the limited edition include an aluminum dual bezel hood with a matte-black hood graphic, off-road wheel flares and a special Mopar blue-and-black graphic stripe accent down both sides and across the tailgate.
The pickup comes with FCA’s standard 5.7-liter V-8 and eight-speed automatic transmission.
The accessory package includes a skid plate to guard the power steering box and a black front bumper skid plate, instead of the Rebel’s standard silver one. The Mopar ’16 Ram Rebel rides on 17-inch satin black wheels and features stainless steel door sill guards and special interior badges. The pickup also features black tubular steel side-steps, a spray-on bedliner and tri-fold tonneau cover for the bed featuring the Ram logo.
At delivery, the Mopar ’16 Ram Rebel comes with a unique metal birth certificate listing the truck’s specifications and date of manufacture, as well as a Ram-branded tool bag.
