Halt and Catch Fire will amplify its bandwith by increasing its cast in Season 3: The AMC drama has added Matthew Lillard (Scream, The Bridge) as a put-together businessman who’ll have a major role in Joe’s business, EW.com reports.
Lillard’s Ken Diebold is described as a very confident guy who invests in Joe’s software company, a man whose aesthetic is “1980s with a touch of California.” The part is recurring.
Season 3 will begin in March 1986, as Mutiny moves to Silicon Valley from Texas, and will find Joe “reinventing himself with a bold play that shocks the Valley and sends him back into the lives of his old partners,” according to the official season synopsis.
In addition to The Bridge, Lillard’s TV resumé includes roles on The Good Wife, Boschand the upcoming Twin Peaks revival.
Halt and Catch Fire‘s two-hour season premiere will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 9/8c; subsequent episodes will air Tuesdays at 10.
