Chinese business service DigiTimes, which has a pretty solid track record when it comes to leaking all sorts of info on technology products, reports that Nintendo will start NX production in the beginning of fourth quarter of 2016.
DigiTimes also says that a trial production run will happen towards the end of the third quarter. However, it’s not clear whether they are talking about calendar year or fiscal year. End of third calendar fiscal year is the end of August — this month. But the end of third quarter fiscal year is December.
Since the NX will launch in March 2017, it seems that DigiTimes is referring to calendar quarter, meaning that the console should be pretty much finalized by now if it’s going to have a production test run at the end of this month.
