CBS’ The Big Bang Theory opened Season 10 on Monday night with 15.4 million total viewers and a 3.6 demo rating, down 15 and 23 percent from its year-ago opener. Those tallies mark the hitcom’s lowest premiere numbers since Season 6 and 2, respectively.
Leading out of that, Kevin Can Wait debuted to 11.2 mil and a 2.6, matching Life in Pieces‘ year-ago post Big Bang numbers, but demonstrating greater retention (72 percent vs. 55 percent) of its lead-in. The JonBenet Ramsey mini conclusion (8.3 mil/1.8) was down 19 and 14 percent from Part 1.
Other Monday Shows
FOX | Gotham slipped 17 and 25 percent from its sophomore premiere, tying its all-time demo low, but was steady with its May finale. Lucifer matched its freshman finale and improved on Minority Report’s year-ago debut.
NBC | The Voice was down just a tenth from its previous premiere, hitting its best demo number since Feb. 29. The Good Place preview drew 8.1 mil and a 2.3 (, heading into its official Thursday premiere.
ABC | Facing stiffer competition, Dancing With the Stars (10.6 mil/1.7) slipped 13 and 19 percent. Match Game’s freshman finale (4.7 mil/0.9) matched its most recent Sunday numbers.
