Marvel’s The Punisher is rounding out its cast with five new cast members. The Netflix show’s makers have announced that Daniel Webber (11.22.63), Jason R. Moore (A Lonely Place for Dying), Paul Schulze (Nurse Jackie), Jaime Ray Newman (Bates Motel) and Michael Nathanson (The Knick) will all be joining the cast, which already includes Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher and Deborah Ann Woll, who will reprise her role as Karen Page from Daredevil.
Webber joins the cast as Lewis Walcott, a young veteran who has a difficult time re-assimilating into civilian society. Moore will play Curtis Hoyle, a friend of Castle’s who is one of the few people who knows he’s alive. Schulze will play Rawlins, a member of the CIA whose work in Afghanistan intersects with Castle. Newman will play Sarah Lieberman, Micro’s (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) unhappily married wife. Nathanson will play Sam Stein, a Homeland agent who is challenged through his relationship with Dinah (Amber Rose Revah).
“We couldn’t have asked for a more talented group of actors to round out the cast of Marvel’s The Punisher,” said executive producer and showrunner Steve Lightfoot in a statement. “It’s a thrill to watch them each bring their characters to life with such layered, nuanced performances.”
The Punisher is set to be released on Netflix in 2017. The character has already appeared in Daredevil’s second season. The Punisher is not a member of the core Defenders team, but he may play in integral role in that series, which will unite Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and the yet-to-be-seen Iron Fist.
