S.J. Clarkson will expand her superhero directing credits by adding episodes 1 and 2 of the upcoming series “Marvel’s The Defenders” to her resume.
The “Jessica Jones” director will return to the Marvel universe after working on “Vinyl” and “Orange is the New Black” to direct the first two episodes of the new Netflix original series, which follows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist in their fight to save New York City. Clarkson will also serve as an exec producer on the premiere episode. The eight-episode limited series is slated to debut in 2017.
