Cameras are still rolling on the new Jumanji movie from Sony Pictures and star Dwayne Johnson has offered a double update from the set, including two photos and a brief description of the scene they shot last night.

“I have to drive my dirt bike up this unforgiving terrain and not get eaten by all the massive and blood thirsty animals in this dangerous Jumanji jungle… There’s a very high probability this whole thing goes to sh*t.”

The new Jumanji cast also includes Jack Black, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Alex Wolff and Morgan Turner. As we previously reported, it would appear that the Johnson, Hart, Black and Gillan are playing the “avatars” of the kids actually playing the Jumanji game in the film.

Bad Teacher and Sex Tape helmer Jake Kasdan is directing from a screenplay by High Fidelity and Con Air scribe Scott Rosenberg with frequent Bad Robot executive producer Jeff Pinkner serving as a consultant. Matt Tolmach, William Teitler and Ted Field are producing. Mike Weber and Van Allsburg executive produce.

Jumanji is based on Chris Van Allsburg’s 1985 children’s book in which a magical board game causes jungle plants and creatures to invade a quiet American suburb. The 1995 original film was directed by Joe Johnston and starred the late Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst, Bradley Pierce, Jonathan Hyde, Bebe Neuwirth, David Alan Grier and Patricia Clarkson. According to Johnson, the new film will serve as a sequel rather than a full reboot.

Jumanji as been pushed out from its July 28, 2017 release date. It will now open on December 22, 2017.
