Lionsgate has released a swinging new La La Land TV spot along with the first single “City of Stars” (via Variety) featuring the movie’s own stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone! Check both videos out below!
Written and directed by Academy Award nominee Damien Chazelle (Whiplash), the film tells the story of Mia (Stone), an aspiring actress, and Sebastian (Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.
The film also features recent Academy Award-winner J.K. Simmons playing a character called “Boss,” as well as Jessica Rothe, Sonoya Mizuno and Callie Hernandez playing Stone’s roommates.
Fred Berger, Gary Gilbert, Jordan Horowitz and Marc Platt are producing. Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment will release La La Land in theaters on December 16, 2016.
