“Scandal” will welcome a new cast member when the ABC show returns with its sixth season in January. Zoe Perry has joined “Scandal” in a recurring role. In true Shondaland form, the part is being kept under wraps and no details on her character or storyline have been revealed.
Perry is a familiar face to Shondaland. She has appeared in episodes of “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Private Practice,” plus starred in ABC’s short-lived drama “The Family,” which hailed from “Scandal” writer Jenna Bans. Perry’s other credits include “Cold Case,” “My Boys” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” She has an impressive background in theater and was recently in a stage production with “Scandal’s” Jeff Perry and “Grey’s” star Kevin KcKidd.
ABC has not announced the first episode date when Perry will debut, nor how many episodes she will be in for the new season.
When “Scandal” picks up, the results are in for the presidential election. When Season 5 left off, the two candidates chose their running mates: Mellie’s (Bellamy Young) veep is Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) and Frankie Vargas (Ricardo Chavira) is running with Cyrus (Perry).
“Scandal” Season 6 premieres Jan. 19 at 9 p.m.
