Google made Android Wear 2.0 Beta 4 available to developers.
The in-progress platform for smartwatches gains a handful of new features in this latest beta. Some new functions include one-click Google sign-in thanks to the OAuth API, and in-app billing, which will allow developers to unlock new ways to earn.
The preview brings back swipe-to-dismiss behaviors and improves backward compatibility with Android Wear 1.0 apps. It also smoothes over action and navigation drawer behaviors; makes the circular UI opt-in, rather than mandatory; and provides burn-in protection for complications.
Developers will need to manually install Android Wear 2.0 Beta 4. Google has said Android Wear 2.0 won’t reach consumer devices until early 2017.
