Pebble says owners of its various smartwatches can expect to have service through the end of 2017.
Pebble was acquired by FitBit earlier this month, but it plans to support its customers as long as possible.
In a blog post, Pebble said “all elements of the Pebble ecosystem … will remain in service at this time.”
The company said the app store will continue to function, developer tools will remain active and available, and developers can even update their apps. The company plans to alter how some of its services are managed in the cloud, but end users should not experience any significant changes.
FitBit bought Pebble for its intellectual property and software. It has already shut down Pebble’s hardware business, which is no longer developing or selling smartwatches.
