New DLC to Fix Audio in Danganronpa V3Demo

Spike Chunsoft recently released a demo of their highly anticipated visual novel Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, and it left some PlayStation Vita owners unhappy. The demo, which is available now in the Japanese PlayStation Store for both PlayStation 4 and Vita, came under fire for the quality of the voices in the Vita version, which were heavily compressed compared to the console version. Thankfully, associate producer Yuichiro Saito heard the fans’ complaints and posted a response on Spike Chunsoft’s developer blog.

Yuichiro Saito explained that the current low quality of the voices in the PlayStation Vita version was due to a “capacity limitation.” Spike Chunsoft will look to remedy the situation by allowing players to download additional data from the PlayStation Store that will give players higher quality voice acting. While details are currently scarce, Saito says that “the contents and timing” of the planned DLC will be announced at a “later date.”

The demo for Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony will also allow players to carry over save data into the retail release. Players that play the unique demo, which features past Danganronpa characters Makoto Naegi, Yasuhiro Hagakure, and Hajime Hinata, will get several bonuses such as Monokuma Medals that can be used in the full game.

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony releases January 12 in Japan for both PlayStation 4 and Vita. North American and European releases are planned for later in 2017. Ports of the three previous Danganronpa titles (which are already out on PlayStation Vita) are also coming to PlayStation 4.
