Japanese developer City Connection has announced Soldam: Blooming Declaration for Switch. The puzzle game is remake of the 1992-released arcade game from Jaleco with new visual design, sounds, and game modes, and will launch as a Nintendo eShop title in Japan on March 3 for 1,500 yen.
The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu has details on the three gameplay modes:
- Soldam Mode – The “endless mode” where players eliminate the Soldam falling one after the other as not to stack them to the top of the screen. Aim for the high score while enjoying the changes offered by fairy companions known as Plumi.
- Plumi – Plumi appear in Soldam Mode and bloom (evolve) into various forms by eating Soldam Fruit. There are about 40 variations of Plumi. What form your Plumi will blossom into depends on how you play (which color fruits you mostly eliminate, etc.) and changes each time.
- Rakudam Mode – A mode suitable for practice where Soldam do not fall in real time and can instead be dropped at the player’s timing.
- Tsumedam Mode – A mode with strong puzzle elements where players must clear problems using a maximum of five sets of Soldam. Good ideas are important here.
City Connection will debut the first gameplay footage of Soldam: Blooming Declaration during a Fresh! by AbemaTV live stream on February 21 at 21:00 JST
