MSI has announced an approximation RAM profile system called A-XMP for the Ryzen AM4 pltform.   It is basically takes the framework and value add of Intel’s XMP (eXtreme Memory Profile) and brings it over to the Ryzen motherboards.

For those of you who don’t play in the UEFI* (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) much,  A-XMP should add support for higher rated DDR4 memory kits, enabling them to work without the hassle of playing with manual memory settings.. The  AM4 (Ryzen) platform handles memory support much differently than Intel and is more sensitive to RAM settings when comes to performance.  MSI goals with A-XMP  is to mitigate those issues and increased performance,

MSI is calling A-XMP “the world’s first 1-second DDR4 performance and stability feature”, and has announced the feature will be rolled out in soon to be available BIOS updates for all MSI AM4 motherboards.

* If you are older or have been away from the PC world for awhile, UEFI has replaced BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) in modern PCs as the firmware used to perform hardware initialization during the booting up.
