Pottermore brings word that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will open on Broadway on Sunday April 22 at the Lyric Theatre( previously known as the Ford Center for the Performing Arts) in New York. The prestigious theatre is currently undergoing a complete transformation, with the venue being entirely renovated for the premiere.
Tickets will go on sale this fall and can be purchased only through the official Cursed Child website. Full details of when tickets can be purchased will be announced at a later date.
The West End production of “Cursed Child” recently set a record by winning nine Olivier Awards, including Best New Play and Best Director.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a new play by Jack Thorne, based on an original, new story devised by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany. The play opened at London’s Palace Theatre back in 2016.
