Google Responses About Having More Affordable Phones for Project Fi

Posted by at 3:58 pm on June 30, 2017

Google has indicated that Project Fi will be accessible from reasonably priced handsets before too long.

At the moment, Project Fi requires people to use the Google Pixel or Pixel XL, or the Nexus 6P or Nexus 5X smartphones.

The Pixel XL has a price tag that reaches as high as $870. Responding to questions posed to its Project Fi Twitter account, Google said:

“We hear you loud and clear. Keep an eye out for a new Fi-compatible device at a mid-tier price from one of our partners later this year.”

Google didn’t say which phone maker might be involved, nor did it name the potential handset in question. Google recently expanded the availability of Project Fi to its G Suite customers.
