Twitter has updated to give users more power over notifications.
Users can now mute the replies of a wider array of accounts. The improved tools are available in the service’s settings, where advanced filters provide granular control over whose notifications are muted.
For example, people can mute accounts that are new, accounts that don’t follow you, accounts you don’t follow, accounts with a default profile photo, accounts without a confirmed email address, and accounts without a confirmed phone number.
These should help people cut down on bothersome notifications that may reach mobile devices.
The filters are available from the web, as well as from the Android and iOS Twitter apps.
