The upcoming film adaptation of the DC Comics title Shazam looks to be the next DC Cinematic Universe feature to head into production.
THR reports that David Sandberg (Annabelle: Creation) is aiming to have the film in front of cameras by January or February next year with a 2019 release looking likely.
In the comics, teenager Billy Batson can transform into superhero form – his adult alter ego Shazam – and wields the power of six mythological gods.
It is unclear whether Dwayne Johnson, who has long been attached to play villain Black Adam, will be involved. Peter Safran is in negotiations to serve as producer.
