HBO has confirmed that hackers have broken into their servers and stole an unknown quantity of data.
In the wake of the incident, unreleased episodes of Ballers and Room 104 along with the apparent script for next week’s episode of Game of Thrones have been released with more coming. In a statement to EW, the premium cable network says:
“HBO recently experienced a cyber incident, which resulted in the compromise of proprietary information. We immediately began investigating the incident and are working with law enforcement and outside cyber security firms. Data protection is a top priority at HBO, and we take seriously our responsibility to protect the data we hold.”
The hackers are reportedly leaking the data online slowly and have claimed to have stolen 1.5 terabytes from the company’s servers.
