Apple has debuted new pricing for AppleCare+ alongside the iPhone X.
Adding AppleCare+ to the new device costs $199, a significant jump from the $129 Apple has charged in the past for the same protection. AppleCare+ extends warranty and support coverage for up to two years from the date of purchase.
With AppleCare+, replacing a damaged screen will cost $29, while repairing any other type of damage will carry a fee of $99. AppleCare+ also gives iPhone X owners 24/7 access to Apple experts via chat or phone.
The iPhone X costs $999 for the 64 GB model and $1,149 for the 256 GB model.
AppleCare+ for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus costs $129.
