The ARK Survival Evolved update released today on Xbox One is a big one, containing much of what was already launched on PS4 earlier this year.
The full patch notes confirm that new TEK items, such as a Sword and a Shield, have finally been added to the game on Xbox. They’ve been available on other platforms for quite sometime, however the post-launch certification process through Microsoft appears to be much longer than the others.
It should also be noted that this latest ARK patch will bring Xbox One and PS4 players back on par following a few weeks of differing content. There’s also a few bug fixes for the recently launch Ragnarok mod, which is available on all platforms.
These include:
- Fixed a spawn issue with Ragnarok Lava Golem Boss.
- Fixed an issue where the Ragnarok terrain would not stream in properly.
It was recently revealed that ARK Survival Evolved on Xbox One X had been given a release window by the development team at Studio Wildcard. While the upgraded console will not be running the popular survival title at 4K, it will include some big improvements. These will include technical boosts, such as distance scaling, which aren’t currently possible on the Xbox One.
Studio Wildcard have also provided a date for when rentable servers will be arriving on Xbox, as well as the delay to the Play Anywhere launch of the game.
“Rentable Servers will be available on Xbox from October 25th, and Nitrado will supply them,” a message from Studio Wildcard explains.
“In the coming days, they’ll have more information available about the process, as well as a landing page to collect interest. The delay comes from some extra loose-ends we need to tie up with Microsoft and Nitrado, and then after that, we’ll have to get through long-certification (our date takes into account the cert-time). That patch will also include our Official Xbox One X support, so you guys won’t have to wait for an update for that!”
