Samsung today made sweeping changes to its leadership. The news comes several weeks after Kwon Oh-hyun, CEO and Vice President of Samsung Electronics Corp., announced plans to step down from his leadership role with the company.
Samsung said Presidents Kinam Kim, Hyunsuk Kim, and Dongjin Koh will succeed Kwon and Presidents Boo-Keun Yoon and Jong-Kyun Shin, respectively, as heads of the display, consumer electronics, and integrated circuit divisions. Samsung said it will maintain a structure with three co-CEOs.
Additionally, President Sang-Hoon Lee will leave his position as CFO. The leadership changes are effective immediately. The move helps fill the leadership vacuum left by Kwon and Samsung scion Jay Y. Lee, who was arrested on bribery charges earlier this year.
