Two-time Oscar nominee Catherine Keener (Capote, Being John Malkovich) is set for a recurring role opposite Fred Armisen and Maya Rudolph in Amazon’s single-camera straight-to-series comedy, from Master Of None co-creator Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard.
The logline for the untitled project is being kept under wraps, though we hear Armisen and Rudolph play a long-term married couple residing in Southern California. Keener is believed to be playing their mysterious new neighbor.
Armisen and Rudolph executive produce alongside Yang, Hubbard, 3 Arts’ Dave Becky and Brillstein’s Tim Sarkes. Universal TV is the studio.
Keener, who co-starred in the HBO miniseries Show Me a Hero, can currently be seen in Jordan Peele’s praised Get Out which is getting early awards season buzz. The Universal film has already picked up a win from the New York Film Critics Circle (Best First Film). Keener will next be seen opposite Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro in Black Label Media’s Sicario sequel, Soldado, written by Taylor Sheridan and directed by Steffano Sollima. She also is part of the voice cast of Incredibles 2
