Netflix has unveiled a new trailer along with four distinct character posters for the upcoming ten-episode TV series adaptation of Richard Morgan’s 2002 cyberpunk novel Altered Carbon.
Set more than 300 years in the future. Society has been transformed by new technology: consciousness can be digitized, making human bodies interchangeable and death no longer permanent.
Takeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman) is the lone surviving soldier in a group of elite interstellar warriors who were defeated in an uprising against the new world order. Frozen for centuries, he’s awakened by the impossibly wealthy Laurens Bancroft who offers him a chance to live again if he solves a murder – Bancroft’s own.
Laeta Kalogridis serves as showrunner on the series which premieres Friday February 2nd.
