Frequent superhero film composer Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight trilogy) has previously said he’s given up on doing more scores for superhero films.
He’s changed his mind it seems as it was revealed on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he’ll be doing the score for the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix according to one of the film’s stars Evan Peters:
“I think the film is gonna be incredible. Hans Zimmer’s scoring it – I don’t know if I was supposed to say that or not. Simon has surrounded himself with incredible people, and Simon knows this world better than anybody, so it was just cool to see him – he’s so happy and in his element in that world, and also being able to direct and guide everybody in this way. I was very happy for him and I think it’s gonna be great.”
Michael Kamen, John Ottman, Henry Jackman, Marco Beltrami, John Powell, Harry Gregson-Williams and Junkie XL have all worked on X-Men scores in the past.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix is set to open in cinemas on November 2nd.
