Michael K. Williams (The Wire, Hap and Leonard) has signed on to play Scatter and Esai Morales (“How To Get Away With Murder”) will play Adalberto in Director X’s Superfly remake at Sony Pictures.
The Alex Tse-penned script is based on the 1972 original blaxploitation crime drama and follows an African American cocaine dealer who tries to secure one more deal before getting out of the business.
Trevor Jackson, Jason Mitchell, Lex Scott Davis, Andrea Londo, Jacob Ming-Trent, Omar Chapparo, and Allen Maldonado co-star.
Joel Silver and rap star Future are producing the Superfly remake which opens June 15th.
