Paramount Pictures has set a November 15th 2019 release date for Sonic the Hedgehog, the film adaptation of the famed SEGA video game character.
A hybrid of live action and CG animation, Jeff Fowler will make his directing debut on the film from a script by Pat Casey and Josh Miller (Golan The Insatiable). Neal H. Moritz is producing the project and Deadpool director Tim Miller is executive producing.
The games center on Sonic and his friends, such as Tails and Knuckles, who run around collecting items and points as they attempt to foil the global domination plans of Doctor Eggman Robotnik. More than 360 million copies, including both packaged and digital games, have been sold on various platforms.
