More signs are popping up which suggest Cheetah will serve as the main villain in Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman sequel.
A new report at That Hashtag Show states that Warner Bros. Pictures is looking to cast the role currently and says they were targeting Oscar-winner Emma Stone for the part, but she turned it down. At the present time, there are no other names who are said to be in the running for the part.
The report also indicates this take on the character will be the Barbara Ann Minerva version. In the comics, she is a British anthropologist who winds up becoming the cheetah god after locating the lost city of Urzkartagan and stumbling into the middle of an ancient ritual.
She’s a stealthy shapeshifter with heightened senses, enhanced agility, super strength and the ability to control animals. “American Horror Story” actress Sarah Paulson expressed interest in the role on social media last year.
The Cold War-set film is slated to kick off production this June under the working title Magic Hour which previously has been theorized at hinting that the film’s villain will be Circe.
Wonder Woman 2 is slated to open November 1st 2019.
