Mackenzie Davis (Halt and Catch Fire, The Martian) has scored the lead role in Skydance’s new Terminator film from director Tim Miller and producer James Cameron.
The new film starts a new trilogy and serves as a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton return to the franchise which will mark the most involved Cameron has been in the series since T2.
Davis, who recently played an android in Blade Runner 2049, was originally eyed to portray Domino in the Deadpool sequel. She will take on the lead human role which is expected to carry on the narrative in subsequent sequels.
Billy Ray (The Hunger Games) wrote the most recent draft of the script, which was conceived by Cameron, Miller and Ellison. Filming kicks off this Summer ahead of a July 26th 2019 release.
