Apple today updated its GarageBand music-creation app with new sounds and features for kids and advanced users alike.
For example, a downloadable Toy Box sound pack includes free education sound effects, such as animal calls, vehicle sounds, and counting in 10 different languages. The iPhone X gains access to a TrueDepth camera-based method for controlling musical effects, such as wah pedals and synth parameters.
Apple says GarageBand for the iPhone X uses ARKit face tracking to translate facial expressions into instrument effect control. GarageBand adds more guitar stomp box effects, as well as stability improvements and bug fixes.
GarageBands is free to download from the iTunes App Store.
