Bethesda Softworks announced on Doom’s Twitter account that 4K patch for Doom is now live on both PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.
The long-awaited patch to add Xbox One X enhancements has been awaited eagerly by players, but The PlayStation 4 Pro update by developer id Software was a bit of a surprise.
In a blog post, Bethesda described the update for both platforms as a “4K resolution patch,” but provided no further details.
Doom is regarded as one of the most impressive technical showpieces in this console generation, relying on dynamic resolution scaling to deliver a near-locked frame rate of 60 frames per second.
The publisher also said that a triple XP weekend is in effect for PC as well as PS4 and Xbox One.
