Beach Rats and Trust breakout star Harris Dickinson is set to play the prince and love interest of Elle Fanning in the Maleficent sequel at Disney Pictures.
Dickinson will replace Brenton Thwaites who was unable to return for the role due to his commitments to the lead role of Dick Grayson/Robin in DC Universe’s Titans series.
Angelina Jolie will return to star as the title character with Michelle Pfeiffer in negotiations to play the prince’s mother, and Ed Skrein on board to play one of the villains.
Joachim Ronning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) is set to direct with Micah Fitzerman-Blue, Noah Harpster, Jez Butterworth and Linda Woolverton penning the script.
Filming begins later this year.
