ComiXology has added more than 150 new Archie Comics titles to its comiXology Unlimited subscription service, meaning now members can read nearly the entire run of the 666-issue original Archie series. Fittingly, the Riverdale comic book based on the TV series has been added, as well.
“Not only is comiXology Unlimited a great way to discover new, recent comic events and stories, it makes for a fun way to try out new titles you might not have considered in the past,” Archie Comics Co-President Alex Segura said in a statement. “Archie, in recent years, has been taking chances and publishing some of the most diverse range of comics in the industry with hit teen, romance, horror, action and superhero titles. Now’s the time to check out what’s been happening on the streets of Riverdale and beyond.”
The additions include the third and fourth volumes of the current Archie flagship series — including the dramatic “Over the Edge” story in the latter collection — The Black Hood Vol. 1: The Bullet’s Kiss, part of the gritty Dark Circle Comics line; the aforementioned Riverdale, the remainder of the recent Josie and the Pussycats series; issues #344-#472 of the original Archie series and the Archie Best of 2016 Digest Annual, collecting the classic-style Archie stories published at the front of the company’s digests.
ComiXology Unlimited launched in 2016, and includes back issues from a variety of publishers and titles exclusive to the platform such as Marvel’s Avengers: Back to Basics.
