Netflix has reportedly acquired worldwide rights (sans China) to the animated feature Next Gen for a whopping $30 million at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
Jason Sudeikis, Michael Pena, David Cross, Kitana Turnbull and Constance Wu lend their voices to the film about two boys who become friends in a society populated by robots.
First-time feature directors Kevin R. Adams and Joe Ksander helm the English-language film which the streamer won a competitive bidding for. Alibaba and Wanda will give the film a Chinese wide theatrical release this summer.
