Paramount Players has picked up the film rights to JAKKS Pacific’s toy brand Creepy Crawlers with plans for a feature adaptation produced by Neal H. Moritz, Marc Gurvitz and Toby Ascher.
The film will be based on the classic toy moulds of all sorts of slimy bugs which was originally developed by Mattel in the early 1960s and revitalized by ToyMax in the 1990s.
Paramount has previously adapted Hasbro properties Transformers and G.I. Joe for the big screen – ultimately turning them into film franchises.
